What is Spiritual Psychology?
Spiritual psychology sits at the intersection of inner experience and the search for meaning. It draws on philosophical, contemplative and psychological traditions to explore questions that conventional psychology often leaves aside: Why are we here? What does it mean to live well? How do we relate to the deepest parts of ourselves?
The Witnessing Self
Central to this approach is the concept of the witnessing self — the part of you that observes your thoughts and feelings without being consumed by them. Developing this capacity is one of the most transformative things a person can do.

DiRECT Philosophy

A framework for an examined life

What DiRECT Means
DiRECT is not a shortcut. Each letter represents a quality of mind and character that the framework invites you to cultivate: Discipline, Respect, Equality, Charity and Temperance. Together they form a coherent approach to living without contradiction.
Discipline
The capacity to act in accordance with your values rather than your impulses. Not rigidity, but the freedom that comes from having cultivated reliable inner authority.
Respect
A disposition toward the inherent worth of all people, including yourself. Respect is not deference — it is the recognition that every person carries a story worthy of attention.
Equality
The commitment to seeing and treating others as fundamentally equal in their humanity, regardless of status, circumstance or difference.
Charity
In the classical sense: the disposition to give generously — of time, attention, resources and interpretation — without expectation of return.
Temperance
The practice of enough. In a world designed to make you want more, temperance is among the most radical and liberating disciplines available.

The Political Dimension of Meaning
To live meaningfully is not only a private project. The structures of society — economic, political, cultural — shape the conditions in which meaning is possible or foreclosed. Political economy asks how we arrange our collective life so that more people can flourish.
